Pattaya – More Than Meets the Eye

When most people think of Pattaya, they picture the famous Walking Street and vibrant nightlife. But this coastal city, just two hours from Bangkok, has reinvented itself as a family-friendly destination with world-class attractions, water sports, cultural sites, and beautiful offshore islands.

Family-Friendly Attractions

Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

Spread across 500 acres, this botanical wonderland features themed gardens, dinosaur replicas, elephant shows, and traditional Thai cultural performances. The French-inspired garden and the butterfly hill are particularly impressive.

Underwater World Pattaya

Walk through a 100-metre underwater tunnel surrounded by sharks, rays, and thousands of tropical fish. The touch pool lets children interact with starfish and sea cucumbers. A perfect educational experience for families.

Ramayana Water Park

Southeast Asia’s largest water park features over 50 slides and attractions set among beautifully landscaped hills. From gentle lazy rivers for families to heart-pounding free-fall slides for thrill-seekers, there’s something for everyone.

Cultural Experiences

Sanctuary of Truth

This awe-inspiring wooden temple stands 105 metres tall and is made entirely of wood without a single nail. Intricate carvings depict Buddhist and Hindu mythology, and the craftsmanship is truly extraordinary. Construction began in 1981 and continues to this day.

Big Buddha Hill (Wat Phra Yai)

A massive 18-metre-tall golden Buddha statue sits atop Pratumnak Hill, offering panoramic views of Pattaya Bay. The temple complex is peaceful and offers a spiritual retreat from the busy city below.

Island Adventures

Coral Island (Koh Larn)

Just 45 minutes by ferry from Pattaya, Koh Larn offers pristine beaches with crystal-clear waters. Try parasailing, jet skiing, snorkelling, or simply relax on the white sand. Ta Waen Beach is the most popular, while Samae Beach is quieter.

Water Sports & Activities

Pattaya is a hub for water sports – from jet skiing and banana boat rides to scuba diving and flyboarding. Jomtien Beach is the best spot for windsurfing and kiteboarding during the windy season.

Vegetarian & Indian Food

Indian travellers will be pleased to find numerous Indian restaurants along Pattaya Second Road and in the Soi Buakhao area. From North Indian thalis to South Indian dosas, you won’t miss home-cooked food here.
